Our Program
We come to you. What you may expect
Under the direction of a supervising physician, a registered nurse experienced in addiction treatment will travel to your home, evaluate your health status and if necessary administer medications to relieve any withdrawal–related discomfort you may be experiencing. The nurse may then discuss the complete treatment plan with you and also determine if there are any particular “triggers” in your surroundings that may have encouraged your drug use in the past. (For your convenience and privacy, we can also come to you at a hotel, resort, or other location of your choosing that can accommodate the treatment plan.)
Our Approach to drug addiction, rehabilitation, and return to sobriety is straightforward
Drug addiction is a medical condition. We Treat it as such
We have learned, through many years of collective experience, that addiction to alcohol, cocaine, pain killers, stimulants or an any psychoactive drug (conditions now recognized as Substance Use Disorders) are medical conditions that require a range of treatment options and specialized interventions. “Doing it alone” is rarely successful. And in most cases, the most critical first step is Detoxification—cleansing the body of toxic substances and eliminating the physical and psychological cravings and withdrawal symptoms that are part of addiction. That’s where we at VIP In-Home Detox come in by providing a private, confidential, medically-assisted treatment environment in your home with 24-hour professional nursing staff directed by physicians trained in treating addictions. But our role doesn’t end there as we consider it essential to counsel you about the next step of your recovery and assisting with referrals that can help you achieve and maintain an addiction-free life. We intend to be your Portal to Sobriety. (See Blog: “Medically-Assisted Treatment”).
The first step in conquering drug addiction
AT VIP In-Home Detox we specialize in-dealing with the most acute aspects of SUD– the detoxification and elimination of the toxic effects of mind-altering substances which, when misused (deliberately or innocently) can seriously debilitate the user—or worse. This first step is critical, in that detoxification is often the introduction to a longer lasting return to health and normalcy—for you, your family, colleagues, work associates, and society generally.
In most cases, detoxification and withdrawal from addictive drugs (see Our Program) can be achieved in 10 to 14- days in the comfort, safety and privacy of your home, with family members and skilled nursing aides providing support and following directions of a physician skilled in SUD treatment. If you prefer an offsite detox, we can assist in locating an alternate location (e.g., hotel or resort area) that does’nt compromise your right to privacy or confidentiality and allows you a continuation of normal business activities and relationships.

Fortunately, the choice of intervention and treatment methods for SUD have expanded exponentially since the time, not long ago, when inpatient residential facilities based on total abstinence from any medication were the norm. But the refinement and expanding acceptance of medication regimens in recent years including buprenorphine (combined with naloxone it’s known as Suboxone), the synthetic analgesic methadone, and the opioid antagonist naltrexone, have expanded our arsenal for long-term control of withdrawal symptoms. These advances have given addiction treatment specialists powerful and effective medications, expanding our arsenal of SUD treatment modalities. They have also been endorsed by the National Institutes of Health and the Food and Drug Administration. See blog: “Bolder Use of Medications is Urged”.
